Immediately after former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin’s endorsement, “the phones lit up like a Christmas tree,” and over 1,000 donations poured in over the next 48 hours, U.S. Senate candidate Ted Cruz said during an interview with LaDonna Hale Curzon, host and executive producer of Sarah Palin Radio. Like Fischer and Mourdock before him, Cruz is the underdog candidate competing against those who have more money and deep connections to the GOP establishment. Her endorsement has given the Cruz campaign such a boost that the power behind it has been dubbed “the Palin Effect.”

“It has been absolutely incredible! The impact and the momentum were enormous!” Cruz said about Gov. Palin’s endorsement.

“We’ve got a tremendous grassroots organization. We’ve got virtually every major Tea Party leader across the state unified behind the campaign. We’ve got Republican women unified behind the campaign. At the grassroots level, we have an enormous advantage, because conservatives are unifying behind this campaign and they are fed up with the same tired establishment, moderate incumbents that have led to our country being on the verge of bankruptcy. As you know, it has been career politicians in both parties who have been responsible for building a $16-trillion debt, and we’ve got to have strong conservatives and fighters who will stand up and stop the spending and turn the debt around.”

Texas Ground Zero in Battle Between Moderates and Tea Party

Curzon said Cruz has been described as a “Cuban, Ivy League Tea Partier,” and asked how he would describe himself.

“Well, I’ll tell you, this race in Texas presents a simple, clear choice between a timid career politician in David Dewhurst, who is the incumbent Lieutenant Governor, and a strong conservative fighter. This race in Texas has been called ‘Ground Zero’ in the battle between the moderate establishment and the Tea Party tidal wave that swept the nation.”

Cruz had been the Solicitor General of Texas serving under Attorney General Greg Abbott.

He said, “in five and one half years in office, over and over again, Texas led the nation in fighting for conservative principles. We defended the Ten Commandments monument before the U.S. Supreme Court and won 5-4. We defended the Pledge of Allegiance in front of the Supreme Court and won unanimously. We defended the Second Amendment in front of the U.S. Supreme Court and won 5-4. And, we stood up and fought the World Court, the United Nations and the President of the United States, and we defended U.S. sovereignty, and we won 6-3. That’s the record and I’m running on it. The record of a strong conservative fighter, because our Constitution is under assault and our liberties are under assault, and we need warriors to stand up for liberty with the same unapologetic embrace of the Constitution, of free market principles that Gov. Palin has exemplified for so many years.”

Hispanic Values: Faith, Family, Patriotism

Curzon asked Cruz what the GOP can do to attract more Hispanic voters.

He answered, “I think it is absolutely right that the Hispanic community is fundamentally conservative, and unfortunately most Republicans are lousy at reaching out to Hispanics. They tend to do one of two things. They either hang a piñata or they throw a Cinco de Mayo party. It’s condescending and patronizing. It doesn’t work. Or, the other thing they do is often even worse. They try to become Democrat Lite. They try to say, ‘we’ll give you part of a welfare state.’ They think that will appeal in the Hispanic community. The values that resonate in the Hispanic community are faith, family, patriotism. You know the rate of military enlistment is higher among Hispanics than any other demographic?”

He noted that he had never seen a Hispanic panhandler in his life, but has seen many “lining up looking to work to the bone.” He said “Republicans need to champion those values: faith, family, patriotism, hard work, responsibility, and do so in a way that connects with Hispanics and says ‘your values and our values are one of the same.’”

If we Lose our Freedom Here, Where do we Go?

Curzon asked Cruz why he is running.

“I am running because our nation is at a crossroads. Barack Obama is the most radical President our nation has ever seen, and we’re going broke. The last three years, we have seen an explosion in government spending, and power, and debt, and if we don’t turn it around, we are going to lose our country.”

Cruz’s father immigrated from Cuba. He fought against the Cuban revolution as a teenager, was thrown in prison and tortured.

“Today, he is a pastor just north of Dallas. To this day, his front teeth are not his own, because when he was a kid, his teeth were kicked out of his mouth in a Cuban jail. And, he fled Cuba in 1957 and came to Texas. He did not speak a word of English. He had nothing except $100 sewn into his underwear, and he got a job washing dishes making 50 cents an hour, and paid his way through the University of Texas. And he and my mother ended up starting a small business – a seismic data processing business in the oil and gas industry. When I was a kid, my dad used to say to me over and over again, ‘When we faced oppression in Cuba, I had a place to flee to. If we lose our freedom here, where do we go?’ LaDonna, there is no question that better explains why I’m running than that question right there.”

Turn our Country Around or Lose our Country

He said the most important issue facing Texas is “the assault on our liberty and the need to stop the out-of-control debt and spending in Washington. He reminded listeners that just last year the U.S.’ credit was downgraded for the first time in history and our debt also for the first time exceeds our Gross Domestic Product. “Career politicians in both parties have put us on the path to where Greece, Italy, and most of the countries in Europe are, and if we don’t get new leaders to stand up and turn our country around, we are going to lose our country.”

Curzon asked Cruz how he would handle illegal immigration.

He said, “neither party wants to really solve the problem and both parties are demagoguing the issue.” Cruz continued, “I strongly oppose illegal immigration and I categorically oppose amnesty, and I strongly support legal immigrants who come here, follow the rules, seeking the American dream.” He said, “eighty percent of Americans agree with all three of those propositions.” He said that everything humanly possible must be done to secure the borders. “That means fences, walls, helicopters, technology – and most importantly, it means boots on the ground. I intend to lead the fight to triple the U.S. Border Patrol, because we don’t need to just reduce illegal immigration; we need to drop it to zero as a law enforcement matter and a national security matter.”

Keystone XL for Prosperity, Security, and the Environment

Cruz strongly supports the Keystone XL Pipeline.

He said the pipeline “is a great example of what I call ‘President Obama’s War on Jobs.’ There are 25 million people in this country out of work and this administration has waged a relentless war on jobs. With the Keystone Pipeline with the stroke of a pen, President Obama killed tens of thousands of jobs….it continues our dependence on Middle East oil, which means we’re sending billions of dollars to nations that hate us and many of whom want to do us great harm. It doesn’t even help the environment! He claims it does.”

He said the danger of spills from tankers coming from overseas is far greater than from a pipeline.

Repeal Every Syllable of Every Word of ObamaCare

If elected, Cruz said the first thing he would do is “lead the fight to repeal every syllable of every word of ObamaCare.” He said, “that is going to be an epic battle. Just today in the papers, there are stories about Republicans wanting to compromise – wanting to cut the baby in half – to keep some of ObamaCare, repeal some of ObamaCare. We need to repeal it in its entirety…I will throw my body in front of a train to stop anything short of a total repeal.”

Grassroots vs. Lobbyists

He urged listeners to early vote for him and said financial resources are critical. Both Cruz and Dewhurst have raised over $5 million each; however, Cruz’s money came from over 19,000 conservatives nationwide, while Dewhurst’s came from 2,500 donors, “mostly lobbyists from Texas and Washington,” Cruz said. “[Dewhurst] is worth over $200 million personally, so he is writing $2 million a week in nasty attack ads coming after me.” Despite Dewhurst’s superior financial resources, Cruz said the momentum is with his own campaign, which is currently winning the race.

Gratitude for Electric Palin Surge

“Gov. Palin’s endorsement last week was a game-changer in this race, and let me step back for a little bit and put it in context. In 2010, a tidal wave swept this country. All over the country from Marco Rubio in Florida to Mike Lee in Utah to Rand Paul in Kentucky to Pat Toomey in Pennsylvania to Ron Johnson in Wisconsin, voters said ‘enough already with the tired establishment moderate politicians who don’t believe in anything. Give us new leaders who are strong conservatives who are fighters who will get back to the Constitution.’ Now fast forward to 2012, as you know the mainstream media fell all over itself to write the story, ‘the Tea Party is dead.’ As Mark Twain put it, ‘rumors of its death were greatly exaggerated.’”

…

He recounted how “three weeks ago in Indiana, the 36-year entrenched incumbent moderate was 10 points ahead in the polls, and every pundit said he couldn’t be beat. Gov. Palin endorsed the conservative challenger, Richard Mourdock, and last Tuesday, Mourdock didn’t just win! He won by 21 points! That is a staggering impact. In Nebraska, just over a week ago, Deb Fischer was in third place. Gov. Palin endorsed Deb Fischer and on Tuesday, she won the race outright.”

Before Gov. Palin endorsed Cruz, Dewhurst was in first place at 38% and Cruz was in second place at 27%, and two other candidates are in single digits.

“We were 11 points back, almost where Mourdock was at the time Gov. Palin endorsed him, and I can tell you the effect has been electric. It has unified conservatives all over the state and all over the country. I am immensely grateful for Gov. Palin’s courage, for her fearless outspoken defense of liberty and the Constitution, and the effect – the Palin Surge – has transformed this race! If conservatives continue to unite in Texas and nationally and continue to provide us the resources to get our message out, we’re going to win this race.”

“When we win this race, Texas is going to lead the fight to stop the Obama agenda, to defend free market principles, and to restore the Constitution.”

Earlier this week, Cruz’s campaign manager referred to Gov. Palin’s endorsement as being “sunspot hot.”

Dear SarahPAC Supporter,

You’ve been a loyal SarahPAC supporter and I can’t thank you enough for your generosity.

But now with so much at stake in this critical Election year, I have just one question for you:

Will you help us finish what we started in 2010?

You were part of the original Tea Party movement.

You joined Gov. Palin in telling Barack Obama that we didn’t want him to “fundamentally change” the America we love.

But now in 2012 we’ve got some unfinished business on our hands, and it’s clear what we need to do:

Defeat Barack Obama.

Win the U.S. Senate.

Barack Obama’s “fundamental transformation” of America is destroying everything that made our country great.

If he and his class-warfare cronies in the Senate aren’t defeated, there will be no end to their regulating, spending, printing and borrowing.

If we want to save our country, then we must change the team and the game plan in this crucial 2012 election.

In fact, if we don’t win this election, I predict that our nation will never recover.

We will go the way of other broken, failed governments.

I don’t want my children and grandchildren working the rest of their lives just to pay off Obama’s debts. And I’m willing to bet you don’t either.

So I’m asking you to join us in finishing the job today.

Will you help Gov. Palin prove that the Tea Party movement isn’t simply a political fad… it’s an American awakening!

And it’s coming from ordinary Americans who understand that reclaiming our America means repealing ObamaCare. Upholding the Tenth Amendment. Reining in overregulation. Canceling Obama’s unused stimulus money. Eliminating all federal corporate income tax, corporate welfare, and loopholes.

And tapping into our abundant American energy resources – oil, natural gas and clean coal – to free us from dependency on foreign dictators!

This is the kind of sudden and relentless reform in Washington we must have if we are going to defend the future of our families and our nation.

Now is our chance to grab the bull by the horns.

The media elites are predicting that the Tea Party isn’t going to be a difference maker in this Election.

As usual, they don’t know what they’re talking about.

Our Tea Party friends are telling us that they’re even more excited about this Election than they were in 2010…

…because this November we have a chance to fire Barack Obama!

State by state, district by district – by bus, by plane, on the stump – you can count on Gov. Palin to do everything in her power to elect candidates who share our vision for America.

Will you continue to support our SarahPAC Revolution and help elect pro-family, pro-America patriots who share our beliefs to Congress?

Thank you for helping us save the America we know and love!

Tim Crawford
Treasurer, SarahPAC

P.S. Our victory in 2010 may have slowed the Obama liberals down. But it hasn’t stopped them. Our chance to finish the job is finally here. We have our work cut out for us – but together we can make it happen!

As recently as a week ago, Deb Fischer was dismissed by the establishment. Why? Because she was not part of the good old boys permanent political class. The message from the people of Nebraska is simple and powerful: America is looking for real change in Washington, and commonsense conservatives like Deb Fischer represent that change. I applaud Moms like Deb Fischer who are bold enough to step up and run on a conservative platform to restore America and protect our children’s future. Congratulations to the people of Nebraska. As the Huskers’ fight song goes: “The eyes of the land, upon every hand, are looking at you. Fight on for victory!”

Early voting begins today in the Texas primary. Please remember to vote for Ted Cruz as the next U.S. Senator from the Lone Star State. Todd and I sent the note below to Ted last week:

As the product of a competitive primary, I believe they make us all stronger for general elections. Our nation’s primaries are the hallmark of our system and the debate between candidates is invaluable to voters. Your good grassroots work and direct contact with voters will put us on the path to take back the Senate in 2012 just as we took back the House in 2010.

We’re proud to join conservatives in Texas and throughout the nation in supporting your campaign to become the next Senator from the Lone Star State. Your conservative principles, passionate defense of our Constitution and our free market system come at a time when these cornerstones of our freedom and prosperity are under attack.

Our shared goal isn’t just to change the majority in control of the Senate, but to assure principled conservatives like you are there to fight for us.

Tomorrow voters go to the polls in Nebraska. Please remember to vote for Deb Fischer as the next U.S. Senator from the Cornhusker State. Todd and I sent Deb the following note last week:

Deb – thank you for your note. We have been watching your race closely. Your efforts remind us of those our family put forth for Sarah's races here in Alaska. Winning over voters through personal interactions is the way to go. People are tired of outside interests spending millions of dollars in political attack ads. We're glad to see your grassroots efforts paying off!

We admire your conservative principals and know that you will not go to Washington to amass great wealth or power. You will go to Washington to serve the people of Nebraska, protect our Constitution and work for common sense solutions to help restore America. We are happy to support you and have asked SarahPAC to send a financial contribution to your campaign.

This week on The Palin Update with Kevin Scholla: Fresh off a successful RINO hunt in Indiana, Sarah Palin flexes her endorsement muscles once again. After helping Richard Mourdock topple Obama’s favorite Republican in the Hoosier State, Governor Palin hopes to give a boost to two other U.S. Senate hopefuls, Nebraska’s Deb Fischer and Ted Cruz of Texas! Fischer is Kevin’s special guest today. She talks about the Palin endorsement impact and her GOP race. Also, Governor Palin delivers the keynote speech at the annual SALT conference in Las Vegas. It’s all right here, RIGHT NOW on SarahNET Radio!

Deb Fischer on the Palins Endorsements

“I’m very excited. It’s continued the momentum for our campaign, because Gov. Palin is so respected.” Scholla noted that the endorsement could be even more powerful, because Fischer is locked in a six-way primary. Fischer agreed. “This endorsement by the Governor is very special.”

Palin Power

Scholla recounted how Gov. Palin endorsed Richard Mourdock who went on to beat establishment RINO Richard Lugar, who had been in the US Senate for over three decades. Following the Fischer endorsement, Gov. Palin endorsed Ted Cruz, of Texas, resulting in a huge surge of donated money and volunteerism. This is Fischer’s first statewide race. She had been in the Nebraska legislature for eight years. Fischer has a strong grassroots campaign, which she said likely attracted the endorsements of Sarah and Todd Palin. “I’m not your usual politician. I have not been running for the U.S. Senate for forever like some of my opponents….I’m a wife of 40 years…we have three grown sons…”

Fischer’s Record

“I’ve been effective as a state Senator….I take on tough issues. I build consensus with my colleagues. Here in Nebraska, we a unicameral legislature – one house only – and we’re non-partisan. So, you have to be tough, you have to know your business, you have to understand the issues, and work hard and build that consensus if you are going to pass those big policy issues. I’ve been successful in doing that,” she said.

“In Nebraska, we have term limits: it’s two four-year-terms and it works.” Fischer said she would term-limit herself as Senator. She said elected office should be public service. “You go in, take on the tough issues, then go home. I believe the U.S. Senate should be limited to two terms.”

Fischer said half of the U.S. is comprised of lawyers. She said she hopes to bring a voice of rural values and common sense there. Fischer is a ranch-hand. Like her endorser, Fischer shares a commonality with her constituents, spends time with them, and listens to their concerns. She has the largest legislative district in Nebraska. Though sparsely populated, Fischer’s district is the size of the state of New Jersey and she drives approximately 25,000 miles per year in the course of her work.

“It’s important that elected officials and candidates get out there and listen to constituents. Constituents have a lot of common sense,” she said. The issue Fischer hears raised most often is “the out-of-control spending in Washington, D.C, and everything else stems from that.” Nebraska legislators are required to balance the state budget, and Fischer has done that for the past eight years. “We’re $15 trillion in debt at the federal level…We need to let small businesses grow and let them create jobs. We need to back government away, reduce regulations, have the government reduce energy costs, reform the tax code, repeal ObamaCare. We need to promote free and fair trade. We need to reform Washington,” she said.

This week Governor Sarah Palin endorsed two candidates for the United States Senate who need your help to win their primary battles.

As we maneuver through the unconventional 2012 election cycle we need to ignore the shiny objects (meant to distract us from Obama’s failed socialist policies) and keep our eye on the prize.

We need to stay focused.

The tone has been set for the primary season and now we have a lot of work to do.

We must retain the House, and seize the Senate to ensure that our new President has a congress of common sense, Constitutional, conservatives to help put America back on the right track.

Big Government Republicans who share a basic contempt for the American people have got to go. Crony Capitalism has got to go. Big Government Republicans who campaign as fiscal conservatives but then jump into the DC hot tub of connections, government bailouts, handouts and waste, have got to go.

The American Grizzlies United 2012 Primary Candidate List is bursting with conservative reformers from every level of government.

This week Governor Sarah Palin endorsed two candidates for the United States Senate who need your help to win their primary battles.

Our American Grizzlies United Texas State Coordinator Cynthia Dixon has been working hard in the Lone Star State. Cynthia has done amazing work recommending, vetting, and putting together a ground team to support the AGU-TX candidates. AGU-TX candidates go all the way from County Sheriff, to the US Senate, with a lay over in the Texas State Assembly; Down Ticket is the way to go!

To help Cynthia (AGU-TX) send an email to: texas@organize4palin.com

If you’ve had enough of the Big Government Republicans and the Obama Liberals hollow utopian rhetoric and crushing policies, then now is the time to answer the call.

Let’s restore America!

Our work continues…

For decades (and decades) the waning entertainer Cher has lectured America on how closed minded and intolerant conservatives are.

Today Ms. Cher has taken to Twitter and exposed how truly closed minded, intolerant, and bigoted she is herself when it comes to the beliefs and opinions of others.

Ms. Cher is not only stubbornly unreceptive to new ideas, but she also has a problem with hypocrisy.

It is well documented that during the 90′s when her daughter Chastity Bono publicly came out as a lesbian, Ms. Cher was quite uncomfortable with the news at first, and “went ballistic” (Bono, Chaz (as Chastity); Fitzpatrick, Billy (1998). Family Outing. New York: Little, Brown. p. 207)

The closed minded and intolerant Ms. Cher told her lesbian daughter that she dressed like a truck driver, and a slob and even kicked her teenage daughter out of the house.

NOTE: Watch Chastity Bono (now Chaz Bono tell Joy Behar that Cher kicked her out of the house for being a lesbian)

When Chastity Bono was faced with a sensitive life decision (to undergo sex reassignment surgery) her Mother’s 100% unconditional love and support could have helped. One would think that the first impulse of a woman who has been lecturing Americans on tolerance for years would be acceptance.

It was not.

Ironically, the one person who did remain accepting, tolerant, and open minded through the years was Chaz’s Step-Mother; Republican Congresswoman (CA-45) Mary Bono Mack.

It should be noted that Ms. Cher and Chaz have reconciled their differences.

However, it should also be noted that Ms. Cher herself has a history of the same homophobia she accuses and lectures Americans about.

Obama supporting Hollywood know-it-alls will continue to attack honest, hard working Americans with baseless hate-filled rhetoric.

We will continue to fight back.

America is tired of those who have bankrupted our country and placed the (non) issues of the small minority over the will of the majority.

We outnumber them (2-1). We can surround them.

Our work continues…
